Contact collection and contest consent
The only item that collects personal data is the Registration prompt and contest consent (Closing category, from the Pro plan). In it, the player enters an email (always) and optionally a phone number, and agrees to the contest terms. You'll then find the contacts on the Players page — along with a record of what each person consented to.
Typical use: “Leave us your email and you're playing for a jersey” — a contest is a fair trade for a contact.
- Insert the item
Add more content → Closing → Registration prompt and contest consent. Before the first use you'll accept a data processing agreement (DPA) — you are the data controller, duelgo the processor.
- Write the message and fill in the organiser
The moderator's message (why register and what's in it for the player), optionally the contest organiser (your organisation's name — shown to players next to the consent) and a brief summary of the key terms in 1–2 sentences.
- Choose what to collect
Email is always required; you can optionally turn on phone number too. Collect only what you genuinely need — every extra field lowers conversion.
- Pick a terms template
From the terms template library, or create a new one on the spot (text in Markdown — headings, bullet points, bold). You manage the library in the studio's left-hand menu under Terms.
Terms templates and versioning
Templates are reusable across duelgo chats — write your general contest terms once and assign them again and again.
Editing a template creates a new version. Players who consented to an older version are not asked to consent again, and their original consents stay recorded against the version they actually saw. Archiving a template preserves the consents too — it merely hides the template from the selection.
Where to find the contacts
Collected contacts live on the Players page (the Registered filter), including bulk email. Mind your plan's contact limit: Pro 2,000, Business 4,000, Enterprise unlimited.
