Design templates and colours
A duelgo's look is driven by its design template. Four ready-made templates are free — duelgo Light (dark blue header, turquoise buttons), duelgo Dark (purple), White and Black. Those are pick-only and can't be edited. From the Pro plan you can create custom templates and fine-tune every colour, the logo and the background.
- Open the “Design” step
Pick a template in the gallery — the phone preview recolours instantly. The selected template is highlighted.
- Create a custom template
Use the Create your own button. Name the template and choose what it should start from: the duelgo's current design, a default template, or another of your templates. The duelgo links to it right away and editing opens.
- Edit colours section by section
The template editor is split into sections — see the list below. Every change shows up in the phone preview immediately; colours are saved automatically.
- Or click straight into the preview
In the Design step, click any element in the phone preview (a button, a bubble, the header…) — a floating palette opens just for that element. If a base template is selected, the editor first offers to save it as your own (a “fork”) — base templates aren't editable.
The design editor sections and what's in them
- Background — background and text colour, an optional colour gradient, a background image (up to 500 kB) and a separate desktop background (up to 800 kB)
- Header — background and text colour, logo (up to 200 kB) + logo shape Standard/Wide/Circle; from the Business plan a custom image across the whole header
- Moderator — colour of the moderator's bubble, text and name, plus bubble border width and colour (0–10 px)
- User — the same for the player's bubbles
- Buttons — background, text, hover states, border width and colour (including the active state)
- Slider — track colour, button colour and text, a custom thumb icon
- Input fields — background and text
- Rating — star fill and outline, label colour, an optional block background
How template sharing between duelgo chats works — important
A custom template can be used by several duelgo chats at once, and the link is live: editing colours or the logo in the template instantly carries over to every duelgo that uses it. The editor reminds you with a banner while editing. If you want a different look for just one duelgo, create a separate template for it (a copy of the existing one is fine).
When you apply a different template to a duelgo, the complete look takes over — fields the new template doesn't have filled in (say, the logo or the background image) revert to their default values. Before switching templates, check what you'd be losing.
Templates can be renamed and deleted (via the card's context menu). Deleting a template doesn't break any duelgo chats — they keep their colours and simply detach from the template.
