Emails to players
duelgo can send three kinds of emails to players: a results notification for a specific duelgo, a bulk results email and a bulk email to contacts across your duelgo chats. All of them go only to registered players who are subscribed; an unsubscribe link is added automatically.
Results notifications
After the duelgo has been evaluated, click Send notifications on the statistics page. Nothing goes out straight away — an email editing dialog opens first.
- Adjust the sender and subject
The defaults are pre-filled and you can rewrite both — for instance, “FC Your Town” as the sender instead of the generic one.
- Fine-tune the email text
The template is full HTML with a preview next to the editor. These placeholders work: {{playerNickname}} (the player's nickname), {{quizTitle}} (the duelgo title), {{moderatorName}}, {{resultUrl}} (a link to the player's results) and {{unsubscribeUrl}} (unsubscribe — keep it in the footer).
- Send
The Send button shows the number of recipients. Sending runs in the background; with a larger number of players you'll see a time estimate.
Bulk results email (from the Pro plan)
The statistics page also has a Send bulk results email button with the same editing dialog. It can only be sent once the duelgo has been evaluated.
Bulk email to contacts (from the Pro plan)
From the Players page you can email all your collected contacts (or a filtered subset — say, only the players of one league). You fill in the sender, subject and HTML content.
First send a test to your own address — tests are unlimited, and that's how you polish the text. A real bulk send can be triggered once every 3 hours, so make it count the first time. Before sending, a confirmation with the recipient count appears.
The monthly email limit follows your plan (Pro 4,000, Business 8,000 a month — see What's in which plan).
