How to set up the moderator (name and photo)

The moderator is the character who writes every message to your players — their name and photo appear next to every bubble. A well-chosen moderator (a familiar club face, the CEO, the mascot) turns the duelgo into a personal conversation and noticeably lifts player engagement.

  1. Open the “Name” step

In the editor's top bar, choose the second step, Name.

  2. Fill in the moderator's name

At least 2 characters. The name is shown above the moderator's bubbles throughout the duelgo.

  3. Upload a photo

Click Upload photo and pick an image. In the cropping window you can move the photo by dragging and zoom with the slider or the mouse wheel (1× to 3×) — a circular crop is saved. Portraits with the face in the centre work best.

  4. Continue

The Continue button waits until the photo finishes uploading. You can swap the photo at any time with Change photo or delete it via Remove.

Good to know

Without a photo, players see the name's initial on a coloured circle — it works, but a photo feels far more personal.

The colour of the moderator's name and bubbles is tuned in the Design step, in the Moderator section.

How long “the moderator is typing…” shows before each message is set per content item — see Moderator reactions and script branching.
