Your first duelgo in 10 minutes

The duelgo editor guides you through five steps: Title → Name → Content → Design → Publish. The first two steps are a gate — until you fill in the title and the moderator's name, the editor won't let you go further. After that, you can jump between steps freely via the top bar.

This article walks the whole journey in one go; the help centre also has a detailed standalone guide for each step.

  1. Create a duelgo

On the studio home page, click the button for creating a new duelgo. The editor opens on the first step. Everything saves itself as you go — you can see the status in the header (“Saved at …”, “Saving…”). If a colleague were editing the duelgo at the same time, the editor warns you about the collision.

  2. Give it a title

In the Title step, write a title (at least 3 characters). Players will see it in the duelgo header and in the link preview when it's shared.

  3. Set up the moderator

In the Name step, fill in the moderator's name and upload their photo. The moderator is the face of your duelgo — they write every message to the players. A familiar face (the coach, the CEO, the mascot) noticeably lifts engagement.

  4. Put the content together

In the Content step, the editor first walks you through the welcome message. Then add questions and messages with the Add more content button at the bottom of the list, or with the + symbol right between the preview bubbles (inserts the item at that spot). Reorder by dragging in the left-hand list. The last text message acts as the farewell.

  5. Pick a look

In the Design step, choose one of the four free design templates — the phone preview recolours instantly. Custom colours and a logo are available from the Pro plan.

  6. Publish

In the Publish step, set how long it can be played (or Unlimited), check the short link and the social preview, and click Publish.

  7. Share and track

On the duelgo Overview, copy the short link or download the QR code. That's also where you track the Views / Starts / Completions metrics and, once the event is over, evaluate the duelgo.

Before you let it out

Always play through your duelgo first via the Preview (“Play your own duelgo”) — test answers aren't counted anywhere. After publishing, don't test via the live link: only each player's first playthrough counts, and you'd use up yours (details in Previewing and testing a duelgo).

On mobile, the editor has three tabs at the bottom: Edit / Preview / Play — you can create a duelgo perfectly well from your phone too.
