Previewing and testing a duelgo
The editor offers three levels of preview. The live phone preview next to the editor shows the duelgo continuously as you write, and it's clickable — click a bubble to select an item for editing, and in the Design step click an element to open its colour palette. “Play” is a fully fledged player. On mobile, the preview lives in its own tab.
- Open “Play your own duelgo”
The Preview button in the editor header opens the real player — you go through the duelgo exactly as a player would, including reactions, time limits and points. Answers from the preview aren't saved to the statistics.
- Restart and try again
The Restart button starts you over, as many times as you like. The preview can also be opened in a new browser tab.
- Share the preview with colleagues
The preview sharing button creates a link valid for 30 minutes — a colleague can go through the duelgo without signing in, before it's even published.
- Switch the player role
If the duelgo contains a nickname question or a registration prompt, you can switch the preview between the view of a new and a registered player — you'll see both variants of the run.
Why not to test via the live link
Only each player's first playthrough counts towards the results — the same person playing a second time doesn't change the score. If you play a published duelgo via the live link, you use up your one counted attempt and your test answers stay in the statistics and the exports.
So always use the preview for trying things out. If a test run has already made it into your live data, account for it in the statistics (you'll recognise it by the nickname).
