Question and content types — an overview
A duelgo is built from content items in four categories: Question, Message, Special and Closing. You add them with the Add more content button at the end of the left-hand list (inserts at the end), or with the + symbol between the bubbles in the phone preview (inserts at that spot). Once inserted, the item opens for editing straight away.
Questions
Single correct answer — the player picks one of the options (at least two). You can add a moderator reaction and an emoji to each option; if the correct answer is known, you mark it with the radio button.
Multiple answers — the player ticks checkboxes. It also supports an exclusive “None of the above” option (ticking it unticks the others) and a limit on the number of selections (e.g. “pick at most 2”). The submit button text can be rewritten.
Number — the player types a numeric value. Moderator reactions follow rules (equals / greater / less / within tolerance / not equal).
Open-ended question — free text. You enter the correct answer as text; separate several accepted variants with commas, and capitalisation doesn't matter.
Estimate — a slider with a From / Default / To range and optional labels at both ends. Scored with a tolerance (see Points and question scoring).
Ranking — the player drags the items into the correct order. You set the correct position for each item; points are awarded for every correctly placed one.
Rating — satisfaction stars with custom labels for the end values. It has no time limit or penalties — good for feedback at the close.
Moderator messages
Text message — a plain bubble from the moderator, with emoji support. The duelgo's first text message acts as the welcome and the last one as the farewell — there is no special “welcome setting”.
Image — an uploaded file (up to 500 kB) or an image address. Optionally add a click-through link — the image becomes clickable (a partner banner and the like).
GIF — an animation, uploaded (up to 5 MB) or pasted in as an address from Giphy/Tenor. It supports a click-through link too.
Link — a moderator message with a button leading to the address you set; the button text can be rewritten.
Special items
Nickname — asks for the player's name. The moderator can then respond by addressing them: use the {nick} placeholder in the reaction text. The nickname appears in the leaderboard.
Sharing — a prompt to share the duelgo, with Share / Continue buttons (the labels can be rewritten). Good in the middle or at the end when you're after organic reach.
Closing items (each only once per duelgo)
Prediction slip — a button leading to the player's personal overview of their predictions; the link is generated automatically once they finish the game. The foundation of every prediction game.
Results message — point bands: for each From–To point range you write your own text (and optionally an image or GIF). The placeholders {body} and {maximum} work in the text. Inserting it automatically turns on instant evaluation.
Registration prompt and contest consent — the only item that collects contacts (email always, phone optionally), together with consent to the terms. From the Pro plan; details in Contact collection and contest consent.
Discount code / voucher — every player receives a unique code after finishing. From the Business plan; details in Vouchers and discount codes.
Working with the structure
- Reorder items by dragging in the left-hand list (the six-dot handle); collapse an expanded item first
- Options inside a question can be dragged too
- Deleting — the bin icon in the list row or in the header of an open item
- There's no duplicating a single item; a whole duelgo can be duplicated (Options menu → Duplicate)
- The prediction slip and the results message must come after all the scored questions — the editor keeps an eye on this and reorders the items itself if needed
- The registration prompt and the voucher always go at the very end
Items locked by plan
The registration prompt (from the Pro plan) and the voucher (from the Business plan) are always visible in the menu — on lower plans with a padlock icon that leads to an upgrade. See the plan overview in What's in which plan.
